A look back.......

We had relatives (from the east coast) visit last week and had a great time playing

I got a quick (FUN) lunch in with some blogger friends!!

The only downer in the visit was our truck

being stolen

from a grocery store parking lot .......major pain in the %^#$!!
(found 6 days later).






but




after seeing a picture of this poor woman's bum

my pain in the %^&$ (truck being stolen )didn't seem that bad.........

life could be much worse.

Friday Flashback

Ruth and Tom

Valentines Day is tomorrow here is a flashback to one of the sweetest love affairs I have ever witnessed......my Grandparents.....Tom and Ruth Mason. In High School "little Ruthie" was friends with Tommy's younger sister Vi. Vi brought home shy "little Ruthie" to stay at their home until the quarantine was lifted on her house (imagine that?). Tommy was quite taken with my Grandma and after she was allowed to go back to her home they spent their high school years courting ........they fell in love, got married , had three children ( the youngest was my Mom). They had an amazing journey together........(I can't watch The Notebook without thinking of them.) Married just a few months shy of 70 years .....they took their vows seriously......always held hands, loved to square dance, shared bowls of ice cream every night before watching Johnny Carson together (they never really care for Jay Leno....."he just wasn't Johnny"), they wouldn't go to bed angry. Tommy could always make "his best girl" Ruthie laugh....(the hard laugh that she would cover her mouth)...........Ruth put up with all of his new inventions and 9 different hair pieces. Alone they were very special people and together they made each other whole......they passed away six weeks apart from each other. I know my Grandpa is leading the choir up in Heaven and Grandma is proudly watching her handsome Tommy.

I miss you , love you and thank you!

Friends+Syrup+Donuts+Valentine's =

We made our own Valentine's this year to pass out today at a Fabulous Pancake Party . Sarah had so much fun reading hers on the way home (and over and over tonight). I think one of my favorite things about Valentines Day so far is all the glitter Sarah's Daddy has been wearing all week........

Little Stinker

Sarah just can't resist getting in the water..........no slow walks on the beach getting our toes wet. It is all or nothing with this little stinker.

Hmmmmmm

I was thinking we would have less shoes and more heads...........we ended up with even MORE shoes than we started with......go figure.
