"Patience"

PATIENCE
my word of the year

I got this idea from my blog friend Linda. She is picking a word for the year and I thought it was a great idea.......and the word encompasses some of my my New Year's resolutions.

*Get back in shape....be PATIENT and stick with a plan

*Grow my small "Tutu Monkey" business..........keep taking small steps

*Start hiking again.......be PATIENT if Sarah only makes it a small distance at first.

* Have PATIENCE with Sarah........my husband will be traveling a lot this year so I need to, for lack of a better phrase ,"quit sweating the small stuff" like taking a hour to get in the car........"No Mommy ...I do it"......some day I will miss being able to spend an hour with her . Thanks for the idea Linda.
What is your word for 2009?

It's so hard to select one word for the whole year...I think my word will be COURAGE. Because I truly believe that 2009 will be a great year for anyone who steps out on faith and reaches for the sky.

Oh man, good luck with patience...whenever I pray for patience my world get VERY chaotic! But...once I center myself amongst the chaos I find that I have grown patience! :) Hmmm my word might have to be faith (encompassing the whole trust thing)

What a great idea! I am going to have to put some thought into what my word should be. My initial reaction is: understanding or maybe compassion.

I am not sure loading the car ever gets faster! Aidan and Gwyn still load up slow. My word is travel! Where to next? We are headed to Malta in April. Want to meet us in Ireland this summer?

I sure do need a lot of patience in the coming year. It seems like every year that goes by, my patience has been slowly going away. I remember a time when nothing would ever bother me and now it's every little thing. I wish they had some magic patience pill, now wouldn't that be wonderful, lol!!

Glad to hear that you're picking a word this year too. It will be a first for both of us! I know of a blogger who makes the most beautiful necklaces with words on them. I'm thinking about ordering one with my word forgiveness.

Since I decided on this word, it seems as though my heart has healed tremendously where one relative is concerned. I was harboring so many bad feelings and now I just don't feel them anymore. I don't want to feel sad over this person and choosing this word has consciously made me aware of my relationships and it's made me pray over certain people more. Amazing...and it's only January!

I loved your blog today about Patience..........like you said Sarah Gene will be at this stage such a short time, you want to eat up every second.
So my word is ENJOY!
I have to eat up every second I get with my children, and grandchildren. Right Now Grandma is a big deal and I love it, but as time goes on friends, school, etc., will come first, so GRANDMA is eating up every second of being in the limelight.........love you and nite nite MOM

PS My brother Tommy always said "Don't Sweat the Small Stuff," as it is all Small Stuff.
Funny what one remembers at 10:30 PM now night night xoxoxoMOM

Thanks for the reminder that getting in the car with a toddler really is small stuff - it's amazing how easy it is to lose perspective!
