Back in the Christmas groove......

We just got back from some old fashion caroling around wonderful Coronado. Sarah was thrilled to belt out jingle bells and get a few treats along the way............

It is great to be friends with teachers.......they are very good about organizing and getting the kids coordinated to do outings like tonight. Thanks Susan!!

Friday Funny......Flashback returns in 2009....

What does a little girl do when she has to stay inside for 2 days to get over a seal bark sounding cough....hmmmmm lets get in Mom's closet. I am glad we have been taking it easy.......our colds are almost gone!!

I knew this was going to happen.........all of our running around gave us colds. Sarah sounds like Clyde ( from Clyde and Seamore show) and I look like I am preparing to guide a sleigh.

Liquids, rest, vitamin C we will be back to our Christmas Extravaganza in no time........This picture has nothing to do with colds it is just a reminder to keep searching for cool "Mom Jeans......" I don't think these fit in that category.......?

Okay.....I told you my next post would involve syrup. Pancake Breakfast with Santa........Sarah was in heaven. It is hard to believe she didn't like Santa last year........she can't get enough of him now. We had a wonderful morning with good friends having breakfast with the big guy.

After breakfast we made a quick trip to the Hotel del Coronado for some pictures ........and just got back this evening from Holiday Nights with Shamu at Sea World. ( no Shamu pictures ....dead battery) We are Christmas 24/7 around her. Hope you are enjoying the season too.

We just can't get enough Christmas around here........

"Really good....."

Lots of things putting me in the Christmas spirit this year....... First, Sarah didn't scream her head off visiting Santa this year.......yahoo. "He a really nice guy Mama" we had a great night at the Coronado Santa Parade.

Second, Tutu Monkey and friends had a great booth at Artisans Alley in Coronado this year. It was so fun to be around so many creative people. I am trying to buy handmade items this year again and this was the spot to kick off the festivities. Pam from My Country Fields makes these fun pop up tent covers.......My Little Buttercup makes great kids cloths and Dulcebebe is the spot for blankets and kids bath towels.......also check out Breathing Beside Us......she has lots of lovely items for Mom's and kids.

Thanks ole trusty brown, boy gap boots..........you have been with us for a year and I think your days are numbered. Today Sarah finally said "boots to tight......". What will we wear with next years Easter dress or to our next Wedding reception? I must admit I was often a little envious of Sarah's ease of getting dressed. No "do these shoes go with this outfit?"........just " I wear my boots Mom" and strut with confidence!!

It is nice to see tax dollars in action. Our library is so great. Our town has story time at the library every Tuesday. We like to meet friends....sing songs.....read books all that good stuff. In this TV and computer obsessed age hopefully I am raising a reader......I am trying to be a better example too.

It was so fun to be a part of the Coronado FOCUS (Friends of Children United Society) Christmas Boutique today. I am always so inspired and happy after I see what people create. My girlfriend makes such beautiful children's cloths, another new friend makes adorable pigs and a 94 year old woman (I met today) has her own business decoupaging vintage luggage...........to be 94 years old and staying active is so uplifting..................okay ....... really liked the pink princess tutu I made too.

I am so lucky to have a creative outlet to bring such interesting people in my life......it makes HAPPY!! .........In this picture I am wearing my apron from Kelly.

This Friday's Flashback helped me realize Sarah might be inheriting a few more of my traits than I originally thought.........hmmmmmm.

My husband asked me tonight "what is it about blogging that you like?''

Hmmmmm ......I think of blogging as the quick phone call I would love to make and check in to see how everyone is doing.....or.....the fun party I meet a new person that I find interesting and make a connection . I was on the phone today with a friend and I felt horrible giving only 80% of my ear because my little one was looking for something to climb on, jump in, put her finger through or lick..............so blogging is MY time to stay connected.

Oh, I am a new Auntie today.........my sis had her little girl this morning........pictures to come.

Boogers

We HAD to get out of the house............ I kept Sarah close to home one more day hoping her nose will clear up. We have both been suffering from allergies the last couple days. We are lucky to live close to the beach so we took a quick walk . By the looks of this picture you might think we were talking about love and angels but this is what Sarah asked me

Sarah- "Mom......do you eat boogers?"

Me- "No and you shouldn't either Sarah"

Sarah- "Oh okay"

She asked this same question the other night at 2 am getting up to go potty so she must have "Boogers" on her mind......now if we could get them in a tissue.

Friday Flashback

Happy Friday!!

This is a REALLY bad picture of a picture but I couldn't get over the flowers in my bedroom. Wallpaper, bedspread, blankets.......all flowers......no wonder I love the Carlsbad Flower Fields so much. I look like an oompa loompa in the picture due to bad lighting. What I took away from this picture is I am going to take pictures of Sarah's rooms as she grows up just so she can remember all her phases in life. Now with digital cameras it will be easy to document and save.

Invigorate

Okay,..........since July, when I had a Dr. Phil frosting moment , I have been working out regularly and feeling pretty good. Well, I took 3 weeks off and was feeling tired, soft and crabby. So, last night I drove slowly to Jazzercise not wanting to go thinking...."hmmm I could just sleep in my car for an hour, spray some water on my face to look sweaty when I go home." ...........but I said.........."Just Go" and slowly walked into class really not wanting to be there......

an hour later

I AM SO GLAD I WENT......I am invigorated!! I looked "Invigorated" up on Thesaurus .com and these are all the things I want to be........so I will continue to force myself to exercise and get my "Moxie" back.
